Course Completion Documentation Options

The Professional Development Institute offers several options to document completion of your online course. Basic information is provided below. For more detailed information on each option, click the appropriate links. If you have questions about which option is best for you, please contact the PDI Program Coordinator, Allison Wynne, at allison@webteaching.com. Note that you should be sure to check with your district or state as to whether or not you are required to provide an official university transcript in order to receive proper credit for your course.

Graduate-Level, Degree-Eligible Credit from American College of Education

Choose this option if your district/state requires that you present an official university transcript for coursework that is completed at the graduate level and applicable toward an advanced degree. The American College of Education, in association with the Professional Development Institute, offers graduate-level, degree-eligible credit for all PDI online courses. ACE credits are generally used for salary advancement and/or credential renewal, as well as used toward an advanced degree. ACE allows up to nine credits for PDI courses to seamlessly transfer toward select M.Ed. and Ed.D. programs, saving you time and money. All PDI courses are worth 3 semester units of credit.

Post-Baccalaureate Credit from UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies

Choose this option if your district/state requires that you present an official university transcript to document course completion. The University of California San Diego (UCSD) Division of Extended Studies, in association with the Professional Development Institute, offers post-baccalaureate credit for all PDI online courses. UCSD credits are generally used for salary advancement and/or credential renewal. All PDI courses are worth 3 ⅓ semester units of credit (equivalent to 5 quarter units).

Official PDI Grade Report

Not all teachers are required to have a university transcript to document course completion. So, PDI offers the option of obtaining an official PDI grade report. Fees for an official PDI grade report are $20 per report. Learn more about PDI's official grade report.

PDI Official Grade Report with Addendum Letter

This option includes the PDI Official Grade Report along with an accompanying letter to serve as confirmation for participants who have requested and paid for university credit but need documentation in the interim while transcripts are in progress. The cost is $25. The addendum letter is attached to the PDI grade report and includes notification that the course has been completed along with confirmation that transcripts are “in progress.” For participants who have requested and paid for university credit, this is a helpful document to have while waiting for transcripts.

Certificate Request for NYSED CTLE Hours (Sponsor #23352)

Upon completion of a PDI course, you need to complete an electronic form request that PDI will use to confirm your CTLE Certificate. You must complete all course requirements and receive a final grade before submitting this form to PDI. You must submit a separate form for each course you complete. Certificates will only be issued to those participants who have successfully completed all course requirements and received a final grade. After successful completion of your course, the CTLE Certificate will be signed by PDI's Certifying Officer and e-mailed to the address provided in your request. Please allow three business days to receive your completed certificate. Please note that one-unit/15 hour courses are not eligible for CTLE hours. If you have any questions about the CTLE hours or certificate, please contact Allison Wynne, Program Coordinator, at allison@webteaching.com. Access the NYSDE CTLE electronic form request.
