What You Need to Know About UCSD Credit

All PDI courses are worth 3 1⁄3 semester units (equivalent to 5 quarter credits) of graduate-level continuing education credit awarded by the University of California San Diego (UCSD). UCSD credit for PDI courses is typically used for credential renewal and/or salary advancement and is generally not applicable toward an advanced degree. Credit is awarded only after all course requirements have been successfully completed, including the minimum required participation period for the course.

Each course requires a minimum participation period of nine (9) unique calendar days beginning on the date of enrollment. The minimum participation requirement applies separately to each individual course enrollment. Participants enrolled in multiple courses must satisfy the minimum participation period for each course consecutively and not concurrently. Completion paperwork will not be processed until the minimum participation period for each course has been met.

Obtaining Official Transcripts:

Once you have successfully completed all course requirements, PDI will post your final grade and submit your credit paperwork to UCSD. UCSD will then record your course and letter grade and process your official transcript. Your official transcript will be provided at no additional charge and should arrive approximately three weeks after PDI issues your final grade. View a sample UCSD transcript.

Please note:

If you completed a course with credit from UCSD after January 1, 2021, you can apply up to nine credits toward a master’s degree at American College of Education (ACE). Note that one-credit courses cannot be applied for ACE transfer credit. If you have questions about transferability of PDI courses you completed with UCSD credit, please contact [email protected].

If you are a teacher in PA seeking MEQ credit, you will need to select credit from our other university partner, American College of Education.

If you have registered and paid for a PDI course within the last 48 hours, and would like to add UCSD credit, please contact [email protected].
