“I enjoy the flexible format that PDI courses offer. As a working mom, it is hard to find time to sit down and work on class readings, etc. The flexibility of PDI has allowed me to enhance myself as a professional and obtain credit hours for salary advancement, all while chasing a toddler!”
— Sarah P., Elementary Teacher, Ohio
Professional development requirements vary by state, district, and employer. Before enrolling, we strongly recommend confirming your specific requirements with the appropriate organization to ensure the course and credit option you select will be accepted for your intended purpose, such as credential renewal, salary advancement, or other professional development requirements.
If you have questions about the credit options available through PDI or are unsure which option may best align with your needs, please contact us at [email protected] before enrolling.
Choose this option if your district or state requires an official university transcript showing graduate-level, degree-eligible credit, or if you’re interested in applying your PDI coursework toward an advanced degree.
Through PDI’s partnership with the American College of Education (ACE), all PDI online courses are eligible for graduate-level, degree-eligible credit. ACE credit may be used for salary advancement, credential renewal, or toward an advanced degree, depending on your district or state requirements.
Up to nine (9) credits from eligible PDI courses may also transfer into select ACE M.Ed. programs, helping you save time and money as you work toward your degree. Each PDI course is worth 3 semester credits.
Choose this option if your district or state requires an official university transcript showing graduate-level continuing education credit for salary advancement, credential renewal, or other professional purposes.
Through PDI’s partnership with UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies (UCSD), all PDI online courses are eligible for graduate-level continuing education credit. UCSD credit is generally used for salary advancement and/or credential renewal, depending on your district or state requirements.
UCSD operates on the academic quarter system, so your official transcript will show 5 quarter credits for each PDI course. This is equivalent to 3⅓ semester credits.
Not all teachers are required to provide an official university transcript to document their coursework. If a transcript isn’t required, PDI offers two convenient options: a cumulative PDI Grade Report, which shows your PDI course history and grades, or a Letter of Completion, which confirms that you successfully completed a specific course.
Both documents are available at no additional cost. Simply log in to your My Account page to view and print your PDI Grade Report or Letter of Completion.
Pennsylvania teachers seeking MEQ credit must select graduate credit through our university partner, American College of Education, when enrolling in a PDI course.
