2. Get moving like the characters in the story! On the playground try to walk, dance, and leapfrog.

Writing Activities


Sensory/Descriptive: Create your own silly character. Use your senses to describe how your character looks, sounds, smells, and how he or she acts. Then, draw a picture of your character.


Imaginative/Narrative: Write a sequel to Silly Sally. Create a fun new character and write a story about something they like to do.


Analytical/Persuasive: Write a letter to Silly Sally persuading her to walk forward and right side up. Be sure to mention the safety issues!


Practical/Informative: Write instructions explaining how to walk upside down. Be sure to use a lot of details so someone who has no idea how to walk upside down can understand the instructions and try it themselves.
