Instructional Approaches for Literacy Development (Grades PreK-3)

Unit One Introduction to the Course Teaching Reading in PreK-3: The Big Difference Assignment #1: Write an autobiography  Unit Two Early Reading Strategies Phonemic Awareness Phonics and Decoding Assignment #2: Rhyming, chanting, and singing can be very beneficial in the development of early literacy. Develop a lesson using one or all of the three techniques.  Unit Three Guided Reading  Word Recognition Techniques Oral Language Assignment #3: Create two paragraphs that help students to use their phonics skills and context clues to determine unknown words.
