IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU NEED ABOUT YOUR COURSE

What are the assignments?

There are six written assignments in each course. For more specific information, click the links above for the course you are interested in to see a topical outline or request a complete syllabus.

When do I have to complete the course?

You have until August 25th to complete all the requirements of your course. When you complete your course you will automatically receive an e-mail completion letter. You then have the following options for further documentation, if needed:

Contact your district for their specific documentation requirements if you are unsure of what you need.

Do I need university credit? What does it cost?

SUMMER CREDIT SPECIAL: You can earn three semester units of graduate-level credit for each online course you take. (We do offer a few courses for one unit each.) This summer, credit fees are reduced to $55 per unit (regularly $70 per unit). The credit is from Chapman University. It is a fully accredited University. Credit can be used for salary advancement and credential renewals. You will receive a letter grade and can get an official University transcript for the courses. If you complete a summer course by August 25th, you qualify for the special summer credit fee. If you are taking a Flex-Time Course, you must complete your course between June 6th and August 25th in order to qualify for the summer credit special. It does not matter when you register for the course, the credit is determined by when you COMPLETE your course. We do not build the credit fee into the price of the course because not all participants need the University credit. In order to receive the summer rate, your credit form must be postmarked by August 31st.

Please note, if you do not meet the requirements above but send PDI/Chapman the $55 per unit rate rather than the $70 per unit rate, your credit will be held until you pay the additional fee. This could result in a serious delay in obtaining your grade report and/or transcript.

Do I need an official completion letter and grade report from PDI? What does it cost?

The following states have approved PDI courses without the need for University credit: Illinois, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Many districts have also approved PDI courses without the need for University credit. Click here to see a list of districts who have approved our courses. Fees for an official PDI completion letter (you will automatically get a free completion letter via e-mail) and official PDI grade report are $9 per letter/report. This fee does not have to be paid until the completion of your course. An online request form is provided in the course completion information.

Do I need special technology?

Absolutely not! The system we use for the courses is Internet-based. All you need is a browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, AOL, etc.) and e-mail. THERE IS NOTHING TO DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL. If you can point and click, you can take the course!

What does the course cost?

Each three-unit graduate-level course is only $185. Note that credit fees (if you need them) are separate from these registration fees.

What is the refund policy?

The following policy applies to refunds for online courses:
