Below you will find step-by-step instructions for working in the secured course area. If you have additional questions, do not hesitate to contact Caryn Chavez at Caryn@webteaching.com

1. Click on PDI Course Area. Click on your course number.

2. You will be asked for your User Name and Password. Your User Name is your first and last name without spaces, all lower case (example Connie Ryan is connieryan). Your password was e-mailed to you. After you enter the information, click OK.

3. Now you will see all the course content. Click on any of the topics to view the information.

4. Read the information that is there. Be sure to scroll to see all the information. Sometimes there will be an assignment. If there is an assignment, you are asked to post your response in the Bulletin Board Area. Click on the link to go to the Bulletin Board Area. This link is in the left-hand frame.

You can type your response directly at the Bulletin Board Area, or you can compose your response offline using your word processing software (Microsoft Word, ClarisWorks, Microsoft Works, etc.) and then post it. If you are interested in this option, please click this link for composing offline detailed instructions.

5. The first time you visit the Bulletin Board Area you will need to register. Click the Register button. You will only have to do this one time! This is VIP because if you do not register, you cannot enter a message.

6. You will see a Registration Agreement. Read it carefully and then scroll to the bottom and click Agree.

7. Complete the information. You will automatically be e-mailed your user name and a password after you register. You will be able to post your assignments in the Bulletin Board Area as soon as PDI has approved your Bulletin Board registration. This will happen within 24 business hours. You will receive an additional e-mail notification of acceptance.

8. Now you can post messages! To post a new message, click on Post New Topic at the top of the page.

9. Enter the information and response and then click Submit New Topic.

10. To read any of the responses, simply click on the topic name.

11. To respond to a message, click on Post Reply then enter your response.
