Credit and Documentation Options

Return to PDI Home Page

You have options to document your course completion and final grade.

The fee you paid to register is for the PDI course only. PDI does not require that you pay for anything further. Because we have many teachers with varying requirements, we do not incorporate any documentation fees into the course fees.

Upon completion of your course (within 7 business days), you will receive an e-mail completion letter confirming your final grade. If you are in PDI's new course system (as of January 1, 2009), you will have access to and the ability to print a course completion certificate once your final grade has posted. No further action is required if you do not need any additional documentation.

Other options for documentation are below:

Credit and Documentation Options

If you are interested in taking this course for three semester units of credit, please go to http://www.webteaching.com/credit.htm for instructions and the registration form. The fee is $210 ($70 per unit).

To view the entire credit/transcript process, please go to: http://www.webteaching.com/questions.htm#transcript.

University Credit Option: You can earn from one to three semester units of graduate-level credit for each online course you take. The credit is from Chapman University College. It is a fully accredited university. Credit is often used for salary advancement and credential renewals. You will receive a letter grade and can obtain an official university transcript for the course(s) if you need it. Credit fees are $70 per unit. We do not build the credit fee into the price of the course because not all participants need the university credit. For more information on university credit, click here  http://www.webteaching.com/credit.htm. PLEASE NOTE: You should NOT request transcripts until at least two weeks after we have processed your university credit paperwork. Both PDI and Chapman need at least 12-15 days for processing.

PDI Grade Report/Letter Option: The following states have approved PDI courses without the need for university credit: Illinois, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Many districts have also approved PDI courses without the need for university credit. Click here to see a list of districts who have approved our courses. Fees for an official PDI completion letter (you will automatically get a free completion letter via e-mail or have access to a completion certificate in the new PDI system) and official PDI grade report are $9 per letter/report. This fee does not have to be paid until the completion of your course. An online request form is provided in the course documentation and completion information. For the letter request form, click here: http://www.webteaching.com/letter.htm. Please Note: this is NOT an official transcript request. You should only request this option if you do NOT need an official university transcript.

Illinois ISBE Form 77-21: PDI is an approved provider in the state of Illinois. Teachers need to submit form 77-21 as proof of course completion. For the request form, click here: http://www.webteaching.com/isbe.htm. The fee for PDI to process this form is $9.

Please note:

ü      If you request university credit, the timeline for processing does not begin until a final grade has been issued. At that time PDI sends the credit form to Chapman for further processing.

ü      If you request university credit, transcripts are NOT sent automatically. You will receive an official grade report from Chapman University College, but transcripts need to be requested separately. You will find the link for requesting credit and transcripts above.

ü      University credit fee is NOT included in the course fee and is separate and in addition to course fees. Credit is optional.

ü      If you request a PDI letter and grade report, please note that it does not include any university documentation and is not a transcript.

ü      You can request university credit at any time throughout the duration of your course.

ü      You MUST request and pay for university credit if you wish to request transcripts from Chapman University College.

ü      Credit must be requested within six months of course completion.

If you have any questions regarding requesting university credit or the status of your request (if over 10-12 days), please e-mail caryn@webteaching.com. You will receive a response within 24 business hours.
