What you need to know about obtaining graduate-level extension credit from USD:
- It's easy to get university credit for your course. Simply select the option that says "course plus graduate-level credit" when you register for your course in the shopping cart area.
- Most PDI courses are worth three graduate-level extension credits which is equivalent to 45 hours of training. The cost for three graduate-level extension credits is an additional $230.
- PDI does have a few courses that are worth just one graduate-level extension credit. The cost for one graduate level credit is an additional $80.
- USD requires that you enroll in the graduate-level extension credit when you register for your course. Please select the option to enroll in the course with graduate-level extension credit in the shopping cart area.
- USD requires that you spend a minimum of three weeks in EACH of your online courses. In other words, if you register for two online courses, you will be expected to spend three weeks in each course or a total of six weeks altogether. The timeline begins from the day you register and runs consecutively, not concurrently when taking multiple courses. Completion paperwork will not be processed until you have reached this minimum timeline. Both PDI and USD are intent on assuring that the participant is able to maximize the knowledge gained by meaningful involvement in the program. (Note that from June through August, you must spend two weeks per course.)
- Once your final grade has posted, PDI will send your credit paperwork to USD. USD will enter your course and letter grade into their system and send you a transcript at no charge. You will receive the transcript from USD approximately three weeks after your final grade is issued by PDI. Additional transcripts may be purchased for $15. You can request and pay for additional transcripts online at PDI's website. Click here to request and pay for additional USD transcripts.
