How to Become a PDI Author

The Professional Development Institute is always looking for talented teachers who wish to share their classroom ideas. We are currently looking for teachers who are interested in writing literature units for novels typically used at the 4th -12th grade levels. PDI literature units are based on a well-tuned formula. We have an excellent template you can follow and many examples you can look at.

If you are interested in being considered for a literature unit writing project, you will need to submit at least four sample pages for review. (Feel free to visit the literature units section of the PDI website where you can see samples from literature units already published.) Please obtain PDI approval on the title prior to writing sample pages.

The four sample pages must be:

  1. A literary element or term study page
  2. A writing activity (any domain is fine)
  3. At least two reading activities to accompany the novel

Your sample pages will be reviewed by a committee established by PDI. If the committee determines that your writing is a good match for the style of PDI's literature units, you will be offered a contract.
